The Women's Fund Asia is a regional women’s fund committed to supporting women, girls, trans, and intersex people to enhance and strengthen their access to human rights.

Support is provided through the following programs:

Strengthening Feminist Movements
This program supports women, girls, trans, and intersex rights activists, groups, and networks working at the local, subnational, and national levels. Support is provided in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

Priority areas of interest include:

  • strengthening feminist voices, including institutional strengthening, capacity development for groups and their constituencies, grassroots mobilization, campaigns, research, advocacy, and outreach;
  • access to justice;
  • autonomy and sexual rights, including promoting the right to sexuality, decision-making, and bodily autonomy of women, girls, trans, and intersex people;
  • movement and labor; and,
  • environmental justice.

Organizations, groups, and networks can apply for core grants to fill funding gaps as per their needs, including operational costs and ongoing/new programs and collaborations. Individuals can apply for programmatic grants.

Leading from the South
This program supports activism devised, implemented, and led by women’s, girls, trans, and intersex rights organizations in the Global South. The Fund is being implemented by four women’s funds in the Global South, of which Women’s Fund Asia is the implementing fund for selected countries in the Asia region.

Linking and Learning
This program, which is not currently accepting applications, offers two types of support:

  • travel grants, to support women, girls, trans, and intersex rights activists and organizations in all the Fund's mandated countries for travel related to advocacy and capacity development; and,
  • organizing collaborative events grants, for organizing exchange visits, convenings, trainings, or workshops.
