MusiCounts, a charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and The JUNO Awards, aims to make music education inclusive, sustainable, and accessible for youth across Canada by providing musical instruments, equipment, and resources.

Support is provided through the following programs:

MusiCounts Band Aid Program 
This program provides under-resourced schools with grants of up to $20,000 worth of musical instruments, equipment, and resources. Funds may be used to support any approach to music education and purchase any kind of musical instruments. Schools can apply for support with an existing music program, or schools with no music program may apply to start a new music program. All public, separate, and First Nations schools in Canada are eligible to apply.

MusiCounts Slaight Family Foundation Innovation Fund
This program aims to empower innovation in music education. It provides schools with up to $20,000 for instruments, equipment, resources, and clinician fees to support technology-forward, contemporary, or culturally-specific music programs in schools. Examples of supported music education programs include, but are not limited to, Indigenous drumming, hip hop, rock band music, or music production.

SirusXM Soundwaves MusiCounts Community Fund
This program awards grants of up to $20,000 to community groups and nonprofit organizations for instruments, equipment, and resources to support music education programs at the community level. Support is provided to nonprofit community organizations to sustain existing music programs or build new programs from the ground up.  Funds may be used to support any approach to music education and purchase any kind of musical instruments. 

MusicCounts Teacher of the Year Award
This annual award recognizes and honors an exceptional Canadian music teacher. Canadian music teachers with at least five years of experience who have received a grant through the MusiCounts Band Aid Program on behalf of any school music program are eligible to be nominated. (Self-nominations are not accepted.) A $10,000 cash prize is provided to the teacher, as well as a contribution to the recipient's school music program.

Scholarship programs are also available for post-secondary music students as well as youth ages 15 to 18 with an interest in pursuing a career path in music.
