How Women Give—a platform of How Women Lead for women to give together—provides grants, visibility, and volunteerism to nonprofit organizations solving critical community problems impacting women and girls in marginalized communities in the U.S. (Support is also available to organizations led by Women Leaders for the World fellows or alumni for projects in the U.S.)

General operating grants of $10,000 are provided to organizations providing services and programs to women in girls in the following categories:

  • health and wellness, including physical and mental health services and education;
  • economic empowerment and security, including financial literacy and career and workforce development; and,
  • reproductive health and justice, including reproductive advocacy, direct services, and education.

Priority is given to organizations led by women of color.

Applicant organizations must provide direct services, at least 75% of which target low-income women and girls. Applicant organizations must have an operating budget of less than $3 million.

Grants are not provided to/for:

  • debt reduction;
  • individuals;
  • endowment or capital funding;
  • partisan, legislative, or political activity; or,
  • religious outreach or evangelical programs.
