New Search Terms Published in the U.S. Charitable Database
May, 2010 – The GrantStation research staff has recently added several new categories to the Areas of Interest in the U.S. Charitable Giving database. (To access this database you must be a GrantStation Member and logged into the website.)
Under Health, the Prenatal/Maternal Health category has been added. The topics covered under this category include, but are not limited to:
- newborn healthcare;
- pregnancy/childbirth issues;
- prenatal care; and,
- maternal healthcare.
Under Environmental & Animals, the following categories have been added:
Environmental Health: The topics covered under this category include, but are not limited to:
- environmental health policy;
- occupational health/industrial hygiene;
- prevention of environmental hazards that affect health; and,
- the relationship between human health and the environment.
Green Economy/Building: The topics covered under this category include, but are not limited to:
- environmentally responsible/sustainable building;
- green job creation;
- environmentally-friendly products;
- interdependence of the economy and the environment;
- resource/energy efficient building; and,
- sustainable economic development.
In addition, the Islamic/Muslim category has been added under Religion & Ethics. This category profiles grantmakers that support Islamic/Muslim programs/organizations or programs that focus on issues of importance to the Islamic/Muslim community.
Under the Types of Support search area, the Events/Sponsorships category has been added. This category profiles grantmakers who provide sponsorships for special events, such as fundraisers, benefits, walk-a-thons, raffles, auctions, charity tournaments, etc.
