Search Terms

To make your funding research more efficient and effective, we have developed the following definitions for each search area within Find-a-Funder, including the "Areas of Interest" and "Types of Support" categories.

If you do a word search (Control+F or Command+F on your keyboard), you will be able to determine where your area of interest or type of support is most likely to be found if that term is included in the definitions.

For example:
1. Hit Control F (Or Command F).
2. Type in “emergency services”
3. Click on “find next”and you will see that grantmakers who fund local emergency services, including fire and police departments, are located under "Safety Issues."

If you have any questions about these definitions, or how to use them most effectively, just email Julie Kaufman, Director of Research, at jkaufman@grantstation.com.
