America’s Promise
Technical Assistance Project
America’s Promise purchased a set of 51 GrantStation
Memberships in September 2004. These GrantStation Memberships
were to be distributed to selected organizations throughout
the year. At year-end, America’s Promise had awarded
37 Memberships.
A survey was sent to all 37 Members in early September 2005.
We received a 51% response to the survey (19 of the 37 members
responded). Many of the member’s didn’t receive
their membership until half way through the one year period.
America’s Promise spent $20,349 on the 51 GrantStation
Memberships. The return on investment was 82 times the original
investment, with the organizations reporting raising over
$1,660,000.00 during the one year period.
These organizations submitted 110 letters of inquiry and
87 full proposals. The full proposals represented a total
request of $4,085,745.00. With $1,669,352.00 awarded, that
means 41% of the full proposals submitted were funded.
These same organizations reported having an additional $869,500
in grant requests still pending at the time of this survey.
