Planning under way for COME Center building construction

Planning is underway for the construction of a new building for the Community Organization for Missionary Endeavor Inc., known as the COME Center.

After an agreement with the Walker County Commissioners Court, which gave the center permission to lease a piece of land behind the Senior Center, COME board president Frieda Koeninger said the next step is to organize grants to pay for the construction. Read more here.

Local non-profit awarded grant

Beaumont - The Kirby-Hill House Foundation has been awarded a grant for membership for the GrantStation program valued at $599 per year.

Other organizations receiving grants for memberships include Boys Haven, Jefferson County Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, Beaumont Habitat for Humanity, Some Other Place, Orange Christian Services, Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Willie Carter Community Outreach Center. Read more here.
